Children, Youth & Family Ministries

We believe church is for the whole family. We love seeing kids, youth, and families grow together and in their faith while participating in worship and church activities.

Children in Worship

We often include a brief message especially for children during the worship service too! Children are important members of God’s family and of our family here at Trinity! That means you may hear some babies crying, children rustling, and adults chatting with them during worship, and we’re OK with that! We are so glad when families feel welcome at Trinity just as they are.

We encourage parents to bring their children into the sanctuary every Sunday morning. Worshiping together is one of the best ways to teach children about the joys of worship and prayer. Children who worship regularly alongside good parental role models are more likely to worship as adults. Support them as they read, sing, and pray along.

If you feel your young child(ren) needs a momentary break, we have a cry room available in the entryway and an unstaffed nursery in the basement.

Sunday School

We offer children’s classes every Sunday morning in the lower level of the church. These Sunday school sessions are divided by age and run from 9:20 to 10:15. We even provide snacks! For more information and a list of current study topics, please pick up an info sheet in the church entryway.

Under Threes
Children under three years old may bring their own adult to the nursery or accompany their parents to classes.

Elementary Ages
Students in preschool through fifth grade meet in our downstairs fellowship hall. They begin Sunday school with fun opening activities and snacks. At 9:30, they break into classrooms for lessons.

Youth
Sixth through twelfth grades meet in the youth room to study the life of Jesus. Their lessons often include clips from the video series The Chosen.

Vacation Bible School

Our annual Vacation Bible School runs the third week of June from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon. This fun outreach for children ages three years old through fifth grade lets us share God’s love through scripture, music, games, and snacks with the entire community. Watch our News page for more information about this year’s event.

Club 345

Club 345, our group for third through fifth graders, meets every other month for a time of relationship building and spiritual encouragement. Please check the church newsletter or calendar for dates and details.

Youth Ministries

High Schoolers
Our high school youth group meets on the first and third Sundays for time in God’s Word—and fun and fellowship. Join us in the youth room of the church basement from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m.

Middle Schoolers
Watch our calendar for scheduled fellowship and service times.

Confirmation
All confirmation students meet for classes on Wednesday afternoons, beginning at 3:45. If school is not in session (for a holiday or seasonal break), please check with Angela Erickson to see if confirmation class is still meeting.

LCMS Youth Gatherings
Every three years since 1980, the LCMS has hosted a youth gathering to provide thousands of youth (and adult sponsors) the opportunity to come together as a community of God’s people to be encouraged in their walk with Jesus Christ and learn about the Christian faith and their Lutheran identity. The Gathering gives young people a vision for the vastness of Christ’s Church and equips them for vocational service as they continue their walk with Jesus. The event is organized by LCMS Youth Ministries in Saint Louis, Missouri.

Servant Events
We strive, as a church, to always model the importance of service to our middle school and high school youth groups by providing regular opportunities to serve whether here at home or farther afield. Our most recent mission trip was to the San Luis Valley in Alamosa, Colorado. Watch our news page for information on upcoming events
